I Almost Missed Out on Zodiac Academy

The Honest Truth About Bingeing This Series...

Let’s be completely real for a second: I almost never read Zodiac Academy.

In fact, it sat on my TBR for over a year. I picked up Book 1, read the first few chapters, and... nothing. It didn't click. The hype didn’t make sense, and I walked away. If you had told me then that a year later, I would be so completely obsessed with Solaria that I’d immediately jump into the Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac spin-off, I would have laughed.

But I decided to give it another shot, pushed past those opening chapters, and holy fecal material (if you know, you know) ... I was completely swept away.

Zodiac Academy isn’t just a book series; it’s an emotional endurance test. There were nights when I found myself grinning like an idiot, totally engrossed in the magic, the banter, and the sheer chaos of Tory and Darcy's world. But it wasn't all smiles. The bullying in those early books made me absolutely frustrated and enraged. I lost count of how many times my eyes welled up with tears, crying over the sheer unfairness of what these characters went through. The authors, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti, know exactly how to shatter your heart into a million pieces and make you beg for more.

But because I want to give you a down-to-earth, honest review, we must talk about the hurdle: Book 8.

By the time I hit Sorrow and Starlight, the pacing slowed down to an absolute crawl. It was so massive and slow that, for the first time since pushing past Book 1, I genuinely considered DNF-ing (dropping) the series. The only thing that saved me was knowing there was only one book left. I had come too far to give up on my Vegas twins.

And I’m so glad I stayed.

The final book picked right back up with the action. Sure, it was incredibly long (my eyes are still recovering from that), but it wrapped up the story beautifully. It gave these characters the ending they fought through literal hell to achieve.

The Verdict: If you want a flawless, perfectly paced, polite little fantasy series... this isn't it. Zodiac Academy is messy, agonizing, exhausting, and wildly addictive. It took me a year to start, and it nearly broke me in the middle, but looking back? It was one of the greatest, most immersive reading rides of my life.

If you tried Book 1 and paused, push through. If you're stuck on Book 8, keep going. Solaria is worth the heartbreak. Now, if you excuse me, I’m currently diving into Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac because I'm clearly a glutton for punishment.

Final Score: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5/5 Stars for the wildest emotional rollercoaster on Kindle)
